BORING!!!!

I got nothing.  I have been racking my brain for the last few days thinking about something to write about.  Nothing here.  Nothing notable.

Notre Dame has a coach but no games.

The Red Sox made some moves but still need offense.

The Patriots better beat the Bills on Sunday.

The Celtics are dominating.

The Bruins…who cares.

The List: My List of Notre Dame Football Coaching Candidates

UPDATED 12/7

Alright, I am going to just keep running tabs on every coach that has been mentioned in regards to the ND coaching position and update as new names surface.  I’ll also rank them in the order of who I would be most excited about.

Urban Meyer – Stated he is staying at Florida

Bob Stoops – Gave emphatic denial over the weekend

Brian Kelly – Is interviewing with ND on 12/8

Gary Patterson – Just signed an extension to stay at TCU

Jon Gruden – Staying at ESPN

Tommy Tuberville – Read the last post, he is not coming

Butch Davis – Kind of out of nowhere, possibly ESPN created

Chip Kelly – Read above

Will Mushcamp – No head coaching experience, doubt Swarbrick will go in that direction again

Jim Harbaugh – Thrown out there, I’m not too excited about him

Randy Edsall – Sounds like a good coach, small UCONN program, Under .500 career record, Still being mentioned but no work on interview

Skip Holtz – Doubt it, more because of last name alone

Bret Bielema – New name, just rumor – only 4 years of head coaching criteria, was a hoax

Phil Fulmer – Threw his name out there, kind of old, – has sustained a winning division 1 program

Brian Billick – CBS floated it, doesn’t fit the criteria that Swarbrick laid out during the press conference

Patterson Staying at TCU

Gary Patterson Staying at TCU

Well one name that can (almost) officially be taken off NDs list for a new coach is TCU’s Gary Patterson.  ESPNDallas is reporting that he is close to signing a long-term extension with the school.  I mentioned last week that ESPN’s Adam Schefter said he thought Patterson would get the ND job, but clearly that is not the case now.  For those keeping score at home, here is my wish list – in order:

  1. Meyer
  2. Stoops
  3. Kelly
  4. Patterson
  5. Peterson

Patterson can now be scratched off this list.  I am praying ND does not have to go beyond #3.
